Digital Transition

The reason for delaying the transition to digital tv is because an estimated 6.5 million househoulds were not ready for the transition. So if we switched over right away then the 6.5 millions households would all lose there channels and no one would be able to watch television anymore until they switch over. The reason that some lawmakers and corporations are opposed to the delay is because no matter how much they delay the transition there will always be some people that wont get the message and will be left in the dark. The consumers that actually need to change their television equitment are the people who still have older television sets, so they are going to need to get a converter box to translate the digital signals. There are many things that are making this process more difficult, such as the people who dont understand anything which are mostly the senior citezens, other things making it more difficult are the people who do own older television sets and are going to have to go an extra mile to get the digital transition to work in their home and they messed up on sending out the coupons for converting over to digital. Some of the benifits of this digital transition are things like higher definition shows, and things like more channels to access going into the hundreds. I will benifit from this most deffiantly, because i enjoy watching television and more tv channels to access in high definition is great, also everyone will free wirless access everywhere, and verizon bought some of this so the serivice will be better everywhere.
